PENTACOASTAL

PENTACOASTAL

“PENTACOASTAL” was inspired by the tonalities of Australian cult cinema. Directors Wade Goodall and Shane Fletcher have merged these filmic elements within the body of a surf film through emotive animations, an undulating soundscape, and a subliminal narrative which follows a quasi-recursive map depicted by a pentagram drawn on the map of Australia.

“A recollection of Australasian exploration following a quasi-recursive map, with elemental moments of expressive wave worship.”

Featuring: Wade Goodall, Dane Reynolds, Harry Bryant, Nathan Fletcher, Pat Gudauskas, Dylan Graves, Nathan Florence, Tanner Gudauskas and Kyuss King. Epic stuff, pull in above.

Disturbingly huge shark scopes out fishing boat

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when myself and two mates encountered a large 6-meter white pointer while fishing thirty miles from Dawsville, Western Australia. The monster shark approached the back of the boat. I thought it was going to take a bite out of my prop before turning and circling the boat three times watching us closely then going directly under the boat, almost making contact. It was then I felt that we needed to go.” Just letting us know who is really in charge out there.

The Midnight Hour Episode 1: Jack Johnson

The Midnight Hour Episode 1: Jack Johnson

Neither man set out to be a songwriter. Jack could have made it in surfing, and Ryan as a bull rider. In this episode, they find a likeness and a naturalness in one another’s music and the identity searching that lead to their sound. The accident at Pipeline kept Johnson (then 17) out of the water for three months with 150 stitches in his head and several missing teeth. This left  Johnson with little else to do but play the guitar, his ‘second’ hobby after surfing soon grew into an amazing career. And his new teeth are pretty bitey and whitey also.

RISS. Inside the Life of WSL Champ Carissa Moore

“RISS.” ushers in a new phase of Carissa’s life while celebrating a comeback that was the culmination of years of emotional searching and hard-won personal strides. It captures the turning point and how the 2019 title race unfolded as a result. “My goal was to peel back layers and show the person behind the athlete,” says the director, Peter Hamblin. “Everyone sees this one perspective of her, and [I wanted] to show the depth of her personality and what a wonderful person she is.” “This is a real look into who I am, as a person, and I hope people are inspired to live authentically, chase their dreams and treat others with love,” says Carissa. “I hope this film is something positive that can be a nice escape for a little while from everything that’s going on.” The film will be available on Red Bull TV on May 11th.
