Profile – Crackington Haven's Barnaby Cox

Hey, I’m Barnaby and I am just 13.
I started surfing when I was six actually because I had broke my arm and my mum thought it was a good idea to re-strengthen it. but my parents had no idea it would turn into my life haha! I surf everyday its not flat or colossal in Crackington with my best mate Frankie, who rips as well. I do surf in comps, but only started this year have I started taking it vey seriously. Unfortunately I haven’t had much success, mostly due to disqualification because I think heats can be a bit technical. I did win a event in Crackington with all my mates!
I would like to thank Celtic Connections, I love there boards and they give me a lot of support. also surf solutions training with Joel Gray is incredible, he’s a great coach, and Mike Raven is a sick coach as well.
Thank you Carvemag!

Hardscope Portfolio > Joe Bracegirdle

Hi my name is Joe Bracegirdle and I live at Whitsand Bay on the south east coast of Cornwall. I really enjoy taking photos of the area and the surf. Here are a few photos mostly of Whitsand and some from a recent trip to France as well as some from Scotland and North Cornwall.

People that inspire me are Mickey Smith, Chris Burkard, Russell Ord, Callum Morse, Jack Neal and many others. At the moment I am using a bridge camera and a GoPro. I hope to get a good DSLR and housing one day and take it to places like Ireland and Canada.

I’m currently at school doing A levels but going to college next year to study creative media so I can work a lot more with filming and photography.

Profile > Melodie King from Hayle

Hey I’m Melodie King I am age 17 from Hayle.

My local break is Godrevy but I surf wherever the waves are good. I travel quite a lot too surfing France, Marocco and Portugal. I am looking forward to the 4th of August when I head back to Portugal for 5 weeks to stay with family 🙂 I get to surf Malhao, Aivados, Cogumelo, São Torpes and all the sick breaks around. I go every summer with my sister Ocea.

I have just finished my first year of A levels and can’t wait to get my second year out of the way so I can go traveling. Surfing has become my life and I can’t see me doing anything else but looking for waves whenever I can, I am hoping to do my surf coaching and life guarding this year so I can travel achieving my dream of an endless summer. I am also doing my second year on the UKPST and am pretty amped for it this year.

I am so lucky to have some awesome sponsors and would not be where I am today without them .

Sponsor me! Saltburn's Nick Woodings

[metaslider id=22148]

Hi, my name is Nick Woodings, I am 16 years old and I am a cold water surfer from the North East coast from a town called Saltburn by the Sea. I have been surfing since I was 12 years of age. I currently ride my local shaper’s boards called Visionary Surfboards that are based in Saltburn.
I have traveled abroad on Surf trips however, my favorite UK break is a left hand local secret spot which I am afraid I cannot tell you a lot about other than it is sick :p. I love Thurso East as I am regular footed and the way it just reals and barrels also giving you a nice wall to lay turns on. I also like other breaks around the north coast of Scotland.
My favorite international surfers are, Mick Fanning, Clay Marzo and Jordy Smith. If there was one in particular it would be Clay Marzo because of his history and his crazy ability to make anything you could imagine on a wave.
My ambition is to travel and compete more often. I am planning on signing up for the UK pro tour in the near future.  I am also planning a few trips at the end of the summer to France with some good mates.
I have competed in my local competitions along the coast, coming 1st in the Saltburn under 16s. I also came 4th in the Scarborough K10 Bay under 16s comp.

I’m 17 and I live in St ives.  I’ve only been fully surfing and living near the sea for a year. I used to live in Nottingham, the furthest place you could get from the sea so I moved from there to live with my grandparents in St Ives so that I could surf everyday.

I’ve been surfing since I was really little but I could only surf during the summer holidays and when I got a bit older dragged by parents over to Scarborough for a day or two surfing where I won this local comp they had on there. I haven’t surfed many places but my favourite spot has to be Porthmeor as that’s where I learnt to surf and where I spend most of my time.
