Dion Agius & Taj Burrow – Western Australia Edit

Just before the world went into lock down, Dion jumped on a flight to West Oz to shoot with Taj for the first time as members of the Globe apparel team. The boys spent their last few days of freedom hunting waves around TB’s hometown of Yallingup.

Light Speed At Val’s Reef

Light Speed At Val’s Reef

A couple days ago Mason Ho surfed his favourite childhood spot Val’s Reef. Located on the inside of Sunset Beach, it’s a tricky wave to ride with weird dead spots, a random shallow reef shelf and backwash.

We could watch Mase surf all day long, entertaining in and out of the water, his energy is boundless making surfing fun.

Plus a raw bonus session at Waimea Bay on Memorial Day.

It’s a joy to see professionals taking so much pride in their work, quivers don’t just drop into the homes of Pros like kids presents on Christmas day. Joel Parkinson is as hands on as it gets when it comes to his rides, insight into shaping and what goes into our boards shouldn’t be taken for granted. Knowledge is power, and a little goes a long way, take some time to understand what makes our boards work and the craft behind it. Click into the edit and watch Jason Stevenson and Parko trade board talk and waves.

I truly enjoy hand shaping surfboards.
Maybe I’m an idealist. Definitely a glutton for punishment, and probably a workaholic. When I was little I always assumed that ‘things’ were created by the people whose names were on them – not so much major commodities like toilet paper or cars, more the ‘things’ that were really special to us. The art that I was surrounded with, the house I was raised in, the go-karts my brother and I hurt ourselves in; All came from the hands of people I knew, and the community that I was surrounded by. What that did for me, I believe, was create my own bottom line – show me the basics of what I believed needed to be real in order to put my name on something that I was offering to the world.
