This strange year provided a rare opportunity for Jordy Smith, his first winter at home for 10+ years. This gave Jordy, along with friend and local surf guru Mikey February a chance to load the quiver up and head down the South African east coast for a once in a lifetime surf road trip.
The boys jumped in their Jeep in Durban and cruised down to Cape Town, of course hitting all the spots on offer along the way.
With the recent monster swell that slammed the Hawaiian Islands, the beast that is Pe’ahi, Jaws raised heart rates and expectations. The arena opened up and surfers travelling from near and far for a piece of the action, and some insane tubes. Boils, bumps, airdrops, and some horrendous wipe-outs.
