I’ve a hangover, which has nothing to do with this clip, but I’m finding it very soothing to watch Torren Martyn and co sliding through Nias, hop on board with one of the best rights in the world. Can you pass the headache tablets please.
South swell with almost no wind all day long, dropping tide in the morning and only 10-12 people in the lineup made this day special. The morning was still a bit slow, long waiting for the sets, many wide ones made it a bit difficult to get a good tube.
Around midday the cross on wind got a bit stronger till 4pm. Around 5pm when the tide started to go out, the Wave machine of Lagundri Bay turned on, set after set, perfect clean tubes with a beautiful sunset!
As the dry season is changing, the wind is dropping, producing perfect clean walls at Nias, no huge waves this time, but still more than enough power for most of us to be able to enjoy!

Solid south swell, calm wind and big tides, this is what happened in the Lagundri Bay at Nias.
With some surfers saying, it was their best surf of their life, the conditions where really-really perfect, huge round open tunnels with up to 8 second barrels, no wind or super calm offshore.
Even Site (local ripper and owner of Jambuarelodge Nias) said, that it was probably one of the best surf of his life, so it’s fair to say, this swell was a memorable one!

August 1st delivered an epic south swell to Nias, to the few guys who happened to be around there. it turned out to be a session to remember!
