This design features lower entry rocker combined with more tail rocker for easy speed, and tight, quick turning. The bottom has a single concave with double concave dropping in through the back third and running all the way off the tail to generate speed and lift. The outline has a mild hip that helps to keep it loose and to tighten up the turning radius a bit. Designed for high performance, proven all around the world, from Brazilian beach break, to lined-up Trestles point waves. The flash is a great board for all levels of surfer in all kinds of surf! |
PYZALIEN6’0” x 19 1/2” x 2 3/8” (31.30 litres) Shaper: Nigel Semmens Fins: Thruster, Quad or Five Fin One of our best loved designs ever! Technically it’s a Stubbie, but this board really can take the place of any high-performance shortboard. It has a single concave running from the nose and under the front foot which blends into double concave and then vee in the last six inches of the tail. This combo gives the board quick speed from take-off and great responsiveness. The outline has a fuller nose and wider tail which keeps the board very fast, while increasing the control and allowing for easier rail to rail transitions at high speed. It has a flat deck and full rails adding to the overall volume, so you should order it 1/8 inch thinner, 3-4 inches shorter and 1/4 to 1/2 inch wider than your shortboard. We know you’ll love it. |
BASTARD5’9” x 18 5/8” x 2 1/4” (24.10 litres) Shaper: Nigel Semmens Fins: Thruster, Quad or Five Fin Our most popular shorty and the board that JJF rides in most conditions and comps ( he finished 2nd at Trestles1st in France and 1st at Volcom Pipe 2015, all riding his Bastard). This is obviously a very versatile board. We took some design aspects of our two shortboards, the Flash and Pinky, and blended them to create the Bastard. It has a touch more rocker than the Flash for a snappier feel, but still keeps its drive and speed through flatter sections. Single concave throughout adds to the speed and the subtle hip in the tail makes it easy to redirect. The tail is a touch more pulled in, giving bite and drive through turns, and we flattened out the deck to re-position the volume for a lively feel. This board works great for big carves in powerful waves, and still feels great in weaker surf. A great board for everyday sessions in all kinds of waves |
