A surfer’s ultimate dream, the Mentawaiis pump from March till October. There are shed-loads of world class waves up here, from those you see in the mags like Lance’s Right (HT’s) and left, Macaroni’s and Rifles, to less gnarly fun spots like Pussies and Burgers.
Several surf camps have sprung up, and of course there are the boat charters. There is nothing like boat trip! Charters range from run-down fishing boats to high-end luxury motor yachts. Trips tend to run for 10-12 days, and a rep will meet you at the airport, take you to your boat. All you have to do is surf, fish and swim.
