FRK

Dimensions: 6ft 4 x 19.625 x 2.75
Volume: 35.2ltr
Fins: FCS II Five fin
Shaper: Dan Mann

Designed and built for Kelly Slater by Dan Mann, with simplicity in mind, allowing you to do what you want on quality waves without worrying about your board. A fibreglass and epoxy sandwich with an EPS core and Firewire’s new Springer HD, an 18 mm wide aerospace composite, that runs down the centre-line of the board, representing the next generation in their ‘Springer’ technology. Unlike the original balsa Springer build, which only added stiffness under the front foot, the Springer HD runs the entire length of the board and plays a pivotal role in optimizing flex from nose to tail.

NO BRAINER

Dimensions: 5’5″ x 19 5/16″
x 2 /16″
Volume: 27.2ltr
Fins: FCS II Five fin
Shaper: Dan Mann

I took the No Brainer’s rocker directly from the Baked Potato and then tweaked the nose and tail flips. That’s it. It’s designed for Kelly’s ripping in weak waves. I foiled out the deck line a lot, meaning I made sure the No Brainer stayed thin in the nose and thin in the tail so that it can handle the kind of tight angles Kelly might want to put it in. A real drivey and skatey board for soft waves. I’ve always made boards for top pros, but I’m known for my grovellers, and this is the first time I’ve taken lessons from those and fit them into the demands of performance surfing. Getting to collab with Kelly in that regard is nuts. Having a blast.

SEASIDE HELIUM

Dimensions: 6ft x 22.875  x 2.937
Volume: 44.8ltr
Fins: FCS II Quad
Shaper: Rob Machado

The Seaside is an evolution of the Go Fish. The Go Fish goes fast and feels skatey and loose and I love it, and riding it for a couple years made me want to feel more high performance – more carves, tighter turns. So the Seaside is about refining … less area in the tail, narrowing the tips of the swallow, creating more curve and narrowing the nose. All elements for ripping while the Go Fish stays cruisey and fun.
