But it’s not just the Thurso Surf Festival that attracts Harry to Scotland, the Celtic coastline is amass with hidden treasures. You can find anything you want.
Sunset Sons have racked their brains to come up with five of the best reasons why you should join them in Bali this summer.
Undoubtedly it will be filled with mystery and mayhem but aside from that they’ll be staying at The S Resort Hidden Valley down on the Bukit peninsular just minutes away from world class waves.
For the less advanced surfers, there’s a few chilled spots to make the most of and thanks to The Perfect Wave crew, there’s an action-packed schedule filled with gigs, yoga and Bintangs.
Here’s Sunset Sons top five reasons…
“It’s warm ……. the average temperature down on the Bukit Peninsular is a perfect 27 degrees – not too hot, not too cold. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning so you can always get a good night’s sleep after a full day surfing with us lad”
“There are shed loads of WAVES within a few minutes scoot or van ride including Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Impossibles, Bingin, Dreamland, Nusa Dua or we can venture up the coast to Canggu. After a day in the water you can even book a massage at S Resort to help relax tired muscles from all the paddling, or join a yoga class if you feel like behaving like a pretzel”
“GIGS!
This will most likely be the only chance you will get so see us play this summer. We’ve got three intimate shows lined up for everyone that joins us on the trip, two at the resort and one on the cliffs of Uluwatu. Having said that, it’s more than likely there will be guitars lying around so we’re will probably play a few more acoustic sessions throughout the week”
“The natural beauty and cultural history is what makes Bali so special. From waterfalls and lakes to volcanoes and beaches, there’s a lot more to this island than just the surf. You can also go along to the temple at Uluwatu and see the sunset ceremony which is an unmissable experience in our eyes”
“BEER – Bintang is always kept at 4 degrees. This temperature is when beer is at its most refreshing and flavoursome. Grab one and enjoy it with your delicious dinner from the onsite restaurant”
So, there you have it. Five reasons why you should join Sunset Sons for a week of fun, sun, surfing and rocking out to some tunes in Bali.

Shark Island. Is there a better named wave in the world? A fearsome slab off the coastline of Cronulla this wave featured on all the major mag covers in the 80’s and 90’s. A ledging beast of a wave often wider than it is tall and who’s lip has ‘death’ inscribed on its teeth.
These days it’s seems somewhat overlooked, apart from the bodyboarders Shark Island challenge, you don’t see much of the place. Maybe it has been superseded by ‘Ours’ and ‘Shippies’. It still looks pretty sick, as this compilation tape shows..
Chris made land minutes ago in Antigua…It is the first, solo, unsupported Transatlantic SUP crossing.
What an effort!
Chris began the first ever, solo, SUP Trans-Atlantic Crossing on December 6, 2016. It has consisted of paddling a marathon every day for 120 days, over 4500 miles (7500 km).
Beginning in Morocco, the voyage has taken Chris past the Canary Islands, crossing the Atlantic Ocean, then moving towards the Caribbean Leeward Island of Antigua.
If the weather permits, he hopes to end the journey in Florida.
Chris has been paddling a custom-made six meter stand up paddle board/craft, all in support of charities which he hopes will help millions of kids in Africa.
Chris has partnered with an incredible group of corporate sponsors, that have committed a huge amount to this project. These funds will be used in three areas:
Signature of Hope Trust – Build at least five schools in some of the poorest regions of (South) Africa through Signature of Hope.
The Lunchbox Fund – Establish an annuity that will provide a monthly dividend to feed and educate thousands of children in conjunction with The Lunchbox Fund.
Operation Smile – Establish an annuity that will provide a monthly dividend to pay for life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries for children born with this facial defect through Operation Smile.
Actually he’s not in jail sources say he’s in the airport immigration detention area, after losing his passport and trying to enter the European country without it…
Hopefully some of our connected Portuguese friends will be able to help..
