The end of the world

The end of the world

Maxime Chabloz is a Seafarer, a man of the sea, a versatile athlete and a lover of the wind and watersport. Often surrounded by the ocean and other enthusiasts, this time he decides to go alone on a unique journey to the end of the world.

It quickly becomes an introspective journey punctuated only by timely encounters with other lovers of the water former lighthouse keepers and their descendants. People who, like him, are all united by a life dedicated to the sea.

The End of the World is not just a voyage to the end of the world. It’s also an ode to the sea, and a reflection on the true essence of seafaring life.

Roughly a week after the Rip Curl Eddie Aikau event Mason Ho heads back to one of his favourite places on the island, widely known as Mermaid Rock. This time he brought his good friend and Pipe Master Balram Stack hailing from New York. Together the boys have fun catching waves and dodging rocks.

Peahi – Jaws

Peahi – Jaws

Watch this whole edit all 59 minutes of it as this swell chase is historic. You will see some of the biggest waves I’ve ever shot. Going back to 1998 I made a movie called Biggest Wednesday Condition Black. It was my first trip to Peahi/Jaws and was literally one of the biggest swells to hit Hawaii back in the day. Well, this was maybe bigger. Held on the same day as the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Contest. There is a good chance that the world’s biggest wave was surfed. Peahi/Jaws is literally at the top of the pile when it comes to the best big wave surf spots.
This day was truly historic. Take time to take in this whole story to the grand finale at the end. – Tim Bonython

English National Surfing Champs

English National Surfing Champs

We’re thrilled to announce the dates for the 2025 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships!

Building on the success of last year’s expanded 3-day Priority championships, this year’s U16, U18, and Open contest will again follow this format. Excitingly, for the first time in the event’s history, the U12 and U14 shortboarders will also compete under Priority rules, at a second event in May. This change reflects our commitment to providing more development opportunities for surfers and advancing the skills of our judging team. It’s a pivotal step for young athletes preparing to represent Team England on the world stage.

For those new to priority, it essentially means that once priority is established, the surfer with priority (displayed using a board with rash vest colours), has unconditional right of way to catch whatever wave they choose. Other surfers can paddle for the same wave, but if the surfer with priority chooses to take it and another surfer is in the way, then a priority interference may be called. You can read a lot more detail in the ISA rulebook here, or we recommend speaking with an experienced coach to learn more!

As the headline sponsor, the Caravan and Motorhome Club supports the most elite surfing event in England, enabling us to showcase world-class surfing talent. Held over two weekends, the championships are a highlight of the year, showcasing outstanding performances and crowning our national champions. We can’t wait to see the action!
