Hi my names Tom Hall I’m 17 and I’m from Jersey in the Channel Islands. I’m studying media for A levels and recently I made this video as a side project.
Basically this was a project I decided to take on at the start of last winter in 2013, as I felt as if the standard and quality of surfing in Jersey is really high but it’s super hard for any of them to get any sort of coverage being on an island an all.
I tried to create a video which showcases some of Jerseys best surfers so that they could get this coverage and recognition but also so that they could see themselves surf which could potentially help them improve. Also it gives some of the younger groms something to look up to.
I really like the approach some of the more modern surf filmmakers are taking such as Aaron Lieber and Kai Neville they’re definitely the ones I look to when I need some inspiration or I’m stuck for ideas.
The surfers featured in the video are Sam George, Scott Eastwood, Josh Evans, Charlie Rio, Piers Gould, Rennie Gould and Ben Bates. I tried to make it a mix between the older more experienced generation and the younger up and coming generation.
Beth Wallace is 16 surfs at Bude and has just joined the Bodyglove and Typhoon. She has been competing locally winning the BudeWaveriders competition last year in the womens Open division. She trains in the Elite Squad with Raven Surf School and have a part sponsorship with Dryrobe. She loves to surf and is always trying to improve my surfing ability.
Her favourite surfers in the UK are Joss and Reubyn Ash because they have such good styles and rip super hard. And she looks up to surfers like Carissa Moore and Lakey Peterson on the international scene as “They shred just as hard as some of the boys and when it comes to surfing the more challenging waves they can still perform.” Her favourite waves are her local break, Crooklets in Bude and Baleal in Portugal.

I placed 1st in the under 14 at Saltburn comp in 2012 and 3rd in 2011
My favourite UK surfer is Reubyn Ash and worldwide John John Florence and Craig Anderson.
My ambitions are to compete on the UK Pro Tour and travel and surf as much as I can. I would also love to travel to Indonesia and surf all the perfect lefts as I am a goofy footer. Desert Point especially because it looks so perfect!

Hi, my name is Leo Reeves and I am 12 years old, I was born and raised in Cornwall on the south cost in a small town called Marazion. I was brought up there before my family moved into Newlyn a little fishing village close by. I am 2014 Cornish Schools champion, even though I am 12, and I also finished second in the under 12’s. At last years British nationals I finished third in the under 12’s and I am hoping to do better this year.
At the moment I am looking for a wetsuit sponsor. I would really like to work with a company that can help me surf more.
