Tube riding legend Mikala Jones has died after an accident on a surf trip in the Mentawais. He was 44. Mikala, from Hawaii, spent a lot of time in Indo producing incredible images and footage.
He suffered a severed femoral artery, possibly due to a fin cut and died due to the blood loss. Everything possible was done to save him but he was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital.
Mikala and his family are on their way back to Bali. The surf community have been devasted by his loss
