Your alarm goes off at 4 am, you know you must get up. Why didn’t you go to bed early the night before! You knew it wasn’t your first early wake up this week. It’s maybe your 4th or 5th the waves have been calling. A quick coffee then out the door, eyes still not fully awake. Prepared to walk for miles, scale rocks and then the possibility of getting skunked wherever you may end up. There is nothing quite like the excitement of the chance of pumping waves. Leaving the house at some normally unseen hour while the rest of the world is still sleeping. The morning sunrise is the best part of the day and for most of us, we continually miss it.

Dawn Patrol was compiled over various sessions that took place in the space of a couple of weeks, with early morning sunrise Dawn Patrols being the running theme for this edit. It really has been a privilege capture that small piece of beauty that happens on a clear day when most of us are still in bed.
