Gizmos gone – Seagull carries off miniature chihuahua.

Four-year-old Gizmo a miniature chihuahua from Paignton, Devon has been carried off by seagull. Experts say the gull may have bean protecting young (doubtful) or hungry (think we all know the seagulls intention..)

Owner Becca Hill appealed for information after the dog was gone on Sunday afternoon.

“My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down. It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn’t see him any more. I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now.”

An internet appeal has bene launched to find the dog, and posters put out. UAV Lost Dog Search & Rescue, a local organisation, has urged households to check their gardens, rooftops, trees and hedges.

A RSPB spokesman said: “ Fortunately these types of incidents are very rare and not typical gull behaviour.” (Obviously hasn’t been to St Ives or Newquay.)

Let’s hope for the best and Gizmo makes it back home.
