The Atlantic has been on fire this year storm wise. All that energy that buffeted us and left a trail of devastation across Europe saw some rather large ocean going rollers heading to Nazare in Portugal. Yes. The place that hosts the arguably biggest waves in the world.
Sancho hot stepped it from Pe’ahi to luck into a mega bomb and Hugo Vau, one of the core long time crew, got possibly one of the biggest ever.
It’s hard to get your head around waves this large. But here they are.
As for the more sheltered corners of Portugal … well, yep, they were pumping.
