Surf in places you never thought there was surf. Volume 1.
South Korea above, looks all kinds of fun. Denmark below, looks like the kind of surf we take to when it’s been flat for a while. But good to know if you ever find yourself that side of the North Sea and need a salty fix. The obvious question: what kind of juice is hiding up there in North Korea? Does Kim Jong like a slide?
It’s one of the wonders of surfing. No matter where you are in the world as long as there’s a bit of fetch and some swell brewing wind on offer there’s potential.
The hype was intense and Cow Bombie delivered over the weekend with Jamie Mitchell and Justin “Frotha” Holland scoring. There were a few lulls and smaller ones but Frotha pulled the trigger on an absolute monster and copped a pounding, snapping his femur before taking a second bomb on the head. Some are calling it one of the biggest waves ever ridden in Australia. Maybe, maybe not… either way Frotha has been put back together and is on the mend.

That thing that drives us. For me it’s surfing, surfing has taken on so many different forms as surfers try to find the perfect way to ride a wave from nose riding on a nine foot longboard to tow surfing into some of the biggest waves on the planet. But my passion, my drive has always been focused on performance. I always want to try and push my board’s performance and my body’s ability on a wave. How high can I air, how rotated and corked can I get out into the flats, how deep can I get in the tube and still make it out or how hard and fast can I push this turn.
My whole life has been completely dedicated to this one pursuit and now more than ever the hunger and fire inside to progress burns.
I live eat and breath this way of life and I love it.
