This is not a drill, I’m on the beach at #Boscombe where the @RNLI have had to red flag the beach due to reported sightings of a shark! 🦈

Beaches in Bournemouth were shut on Wednesday after a possible shark sighting.
The BBC reported…
“Beach-goers were evacuated from the sea after reports of a “large marine animal” in the water.
Lifeguards instructed swimmers to leave the sea at Boscombe Beach in Bournemouth while they scanned the water on Wednesday.”
“The RNLI said it received reports of “significant movement” in the water but lifeguards were unable to formally identify the animal.”
“On Twitter, one woman said: “Possible shark sighting at Boscombe Beach. Everyone called out of the water.”
“The RNLI has asked members of the public to report any concerns about wildlife to lifeguards as soon as they are spotted.” said the RNLI
“BCP Council said the beach was temporarily closed as a “precautionary measure” while an inspection was carried out.” said the council, unfortunately off Jaws script..
Obviously it is basking shark season so could be one of them, and no one has ever recorded a great white in British waters… But tuna have returned the UK shores for the first time in 50 years and if they are here, and they are pretty tasty… surely then only matter of time before something bigger comes to eat them…
And after Wally the Walrus went on holiday who knows..
Did Viz predict this in 1991? Spooky…
