skindog surfboards // THE BLENDER

skindog surfboards // THE BLENDER

9’1 ” x 22 1/2 ” x 2 3/4″ • FINS: Three Fin with Single Box • SHAPER: Ben Skinner

This board has come from blending the best bits of the Missing Link and the Saving Grace, hence the name “The Blender”. I designed it primarily for flatter slower waves, with faster hollow sections, just like the wave in Riyue Bay in Hainan Island off southern China. This is where they have held the WSL World Longboard Tour for the past 4 years, and is likely for the tour to finish there in the future. After going for years, I feel like I have finally cracked what I need to be riding there whilst surfing to the more traditional judging criteria. This board still has high performance features, but it is wider all over, with a more relaxed rocker. The bottom starts with a single concave in the nose, flowing straight into a subtle double concave through the centre rolling out into big rolled vee inside the slight double, making this board a dream to surf on the nose and tail, it really feels like easy surfing. It turns with flow and speed and will glide through any fat section with ease, and on the nose it just locks in. An easy board to surf suiting all abilities and all conditions upto 4-5ft. I first rode this board in the 2015 WLT in China, and finished 3rd in the world. So I can assure you this board works!

skindog surfboards // THE TWINN

5’11” x 21″ x 2 1/2″ • FINS: Twin Fin • SHAPER: Ben Skinner

The design, “the twin fin” is an oldie, but still one of the best surfboard designs ever! I recommend every surfer to at least have a go on a Twin. It does amazing things for your surfing, teaching you to use your rail properly as well as showing you different lines you can take on a wave and the different power pockets to use. They were a great design in their day and still stand as one of the greats. On a rail you have speed and drive, but when flat, oh yes you can slide!

6’3″ x 21 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ • FINS: Three Fin with Single Box • SHAPER: Ben Skinner

This board is a short performance longboard. The Midget was born as a 6’3″. It holds the same outline and width as a performance longboard with a pulled in performance tail. Paddle with ease, glide through sections, and when you want to turn, put it on rail and it will turn with ease. A top pick for a summer toy!

9’4″ X 23″ X 3″ • FINS: Single Fin • SHAPER: Ben Skinner

We came up with the name of this board after riding it for the first time. Although it is a heavier traditional design, with its 50-50 rails, subtle concave through the nose, running with vee through the belly, a unique rolled out tail, with the wide point behind the centre, it had this feeling that we can only describe as a feather falling from the sky. It is stable on the nose and tail, with the ability to draw traditional lines.
