Competition Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

    • The competition is open to entrants aged 18 years or over.
    • The competition is open internationally.
    • Employees of Carve, Free Spirit Hostel, and their immediate families, as well as anyone professionally connected to the competition, are not eligible to enter.

    • The competition closes on Monday 20th October 2025.
    • Entries submitted after the closing date will not be counted.

4. Prize

    • The prize is a surf stay for two people at Free Spirit Hostel Ecuador.
    • The prize includes:
      • 6 nights’ accommodation at the Free Spirit Hostel Ecuador
      • 6 breakfasts & 6 vegetarian family dinners
      • Surf lessons + 1 theory class
      • Daily yoga sessions
      • Free use of surf and yoga equipment
      • Free skateboard rental
      • An Ecuadorian cooking class
      • Salsa nights
      • Your first beer or soda to drink at their epic bar
      • Unforgettable surf sessions
    • Flights, airport transfers, travel insurance, additional activities, and other personal expenses are not included.
    • The winner is responsible for booking their own flights and travel documents (e.g., passports, visas, insurance).

5. Prize Terms

    • The prize date will need to be decided by the winner and by Free Spirit Hostel Ecuador, subject to availability and Free Spirit's booking calendar.
    • Blackout dates may apply, including high season and holiday periods.
    • The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternative.
    • SurfGirl is hosting this competition, but all arrangements to do with the prize will be handled by Free Spirit Hostel Ecuador.
    • The winner must book their week’s stay before June 30th, 2026.

6. Winner Selection & Notification

    • The winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries received.
    • The winner will be contacted via the @carvemag Instagram account within 7 days of the competition closing.
    • If the winner does not respond within 5 days of being notified, a new winner will be selected.

7. Data Protection

    • By entering, participants consent to their name and Instagram handle being announced publicly if they win.
    • Any personal data provided will be handled in accordance with Carve's Privacy Policy and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

8. Fake Accounts & Scams

    • Carve and Free Spirit Hostel will never ask for your bank or card details to claim a prize.
    • We will only contact the winner from @carvemag, our official verified account.
    • Please report any suspicious messages or accounts impersonating us.
