So. Teahupoo has been doing it’s thing. Keala got a bomb. Some guy (below) got one of the heaviest wipeouts we’ve ever seen and, err, JOB surfed it on fire in a full suit. Yes. Errrr, we don’t know why either.

Gearoid McDaid is an 18 year old surfer from the west coast of Ireland. A small town on the west coast called Strandhill is his home and day in day out he’s in his full suit pushing new boundaries of high performance surfing.
Ireland has gained a lot of attention over the last few years for the huge waves and crazy slabs that pound it’s shores in winter time. But alongside this Gearoid is gaining a reputation as a surfer at the forefront of European hi-fi surfing and he’s a regular on the European Pro Junior circuit. His act is polished not on the beaches of Hossegor or Peniche but the chilly waters of Ireland and this short edit was filmed and edited by Ian Mitchinson over two sessions around his hometown reefs.
