When Hawaiian charger Tyler Newton checked the South Pacific swell charts and saw a massive swell heading towards Teahupo’o, one of his favourite waves, he hoped on the next plane to Tahiti. What ensued was a couple of days of near perfection at one of the world’s best barrels. Other surfers, like Raimana Van Bastolaer, Matahi Drollet, Mihimana Braya, and Makai McNamara, caught some truly memorable waves.
