The longest lines – Oli Adams wins Lynmouth UK Pro Tour stop

Oli Adams from Newquay won this year’s Lynmouth UKPSA Surf Contest, in 3-6ft Point Break waves. Oli pushed the boundaries of backhand surfing and Lynmouth’s left-hand point break provided his perfect canvas. He said after his win “It is great to surf and compete in one of my favourite waves and to win is special. It’s been a long time since I have taken a title hopefully there will be more to come”.
Oli 12 months ago was seriously ill in hospital, looked like his surfing career was coming to an end, has now defied all the odds and beat the best in one of the biggest surf events in the country.
Runner up went St Ives surfer Jayce Robinson who has now made two finals in a row. Third place also went to a Newquay surfer Mark Harris who along with Jayce will be challenging Luke Dillon for this year’s UKPSA tour title. Fourth went to the youngest finalist Harry Timson who surfed well throughout the event but failed to get the waves he wanted in the final heat.
Dave Reed, CEO and organiser of UK Pro Surf, said: “It is fantastic to come back to Lynmouth, such a beautiful location with World Class waves. I would like to thank Red Bull for their support for this event and the Wave Breaker Series. We are trying to provide the best surf conditions for British surfers to compete in around the country, without their support we would be unable to put on such a great event”. Adding “I would also like to thank the other sponsors, Sharp Brewery, Adams Surfboards, Dritek and Fistral Beach Complex”.
Lynmouth Surf Event is also the second stop on the Wave Breaker Series, which was put together to challenge surfers in the best conditions possible at events in Scotland, England and Wales. Next event Llantwit (Wales)

In Search of the perfect wave

You heard about it or saw a picture. It’s perfection personified. Right size, right wind, right for you. And you simply can’t stop dreaming about it. You might as well leave school or quit your job now – because you need to go and turn that rumour into a reality. Right now!

Mason Ho > Puma Point

How much fun is Mason Ho having? Sometimes you don’t need ruler lined perfection to have blast, just a weird little wedge all to your self will do.

Mason said” This is in brazil 5 mins from the recent contest area. Thought it was fun practicing there with no body around. Doesn’t get better then just you and a friend out surfing at such a FUN & beautiful zone. Wish it had the right air wind.”

The hight air wind? Hmm…

Scotland 2015

Every year the UK Pro Tour makes it’s way up to Caithness Scotland for one of the worlds northernmost contests. It always gets great waves at Thurso and surrounding areas and serves as a rite of passage for the younger crew many of who travel 14 hours or so to get there in mini buses or with older wiser surfers who mis treat them in age old tradition.
This year Sam Harwood made a documentary. It’s pretty good!
