Up to 4.5 trillion cigarette butts pollute our oceans and coastlines every single year—making them the most littered item on the planet. The Cigarette Surfboard takes viewers around the world via a functional surfboard built from 10,000 littered cigarette butts, following a journey to highlight ocean protection and environmental activism.
Featuring an inspiring cast of professional surfers and ocean advocates—including Easkey Britton, Fergal Smith, and Surfers Against Sewage (SAS)—the film takes a solution-driven, optimistic look at the future of our planet. Surfing is the medium, but the message is universal: opening up the dialogue for anyone to take action in their personal lives and local communities.
