As part of its global Recycle Your Wetsuit initiative, Rip Curl is strengthening its environmental commitment in Europe by partnering with Circular Flow from 2025 to give used wetsuits a second life.
Launched in Australia in 2021 and later expanded internationally, Recycle Your Wetsuit allows surfers to drop off their old wetsuits at participating stores. These are then collected, sorted, and recycled into useful products.
In Europe, the program continues with the support of Circular Flow, which will transform collected wetsuits into new neoprene products such as changing mats. This offers a practical solution to reduce the environmental impact of surfing throughout the year.

This project marks a major step forward in our commitment to establishing a circular model for wetsuit recycling, with these first products and an expanded range to come. It also reflects Rip Curl’s determination to accelerate its transition toward a more sustainable economy, in line with our ambitious ESG approach and our B Corp certification,” says Jonathan Cetran, Head of Products at Rip Curl Europe.
Since its international launch in 2021, the program has enabled the recycling of over 32,000 wetsuits worldwide, including more than 12,000 in Europe.
Rip Curl accepts wetsuits and neoprene surf accessories from all brands. Gloves and booties must be submitted in pairs. Users can drop off their wetsuits free of charge at participating Rip Curl stores or contact customer service at [email protected].
