Event Call: 2024 The Stable English National Longboard Championships to take place at Fistral Beach, Cornwall – IT’S ON
This Saturday 28th September we are ON for the 2024 The Stable English National Longboard Championships at Fistral Beach, Newquay. With a fun and consistent swell this Saturday, we know our English athletes will have the perfect platform to show their skills. We extend a warm welcome to our nation’s finest longboarders of Men’s and Women’s Open divisions and the Under 18 boys and girls divisions. With over 40 surfers entered, we will have an action packed 8 hours of contest at the beach.
With Longboard rules stating boards must be a minimum of 9 foot long, It’s time for competitors to start considering choice of longboards for the fun 3 foot waves.
Additionally, all must ensure their equipment undergoes a thorough safety check for any issues with leashes, dings, and other potential hazards.
As we strive to develop the standards of our English events to align with international competitions, athletes will compete using the priority system this weekend. While we’ve implemented this system for the past two years at our Shortboard English Nationals, this will be the first time our longboarders will compete under the priority system in England. The ISA rulebook is what we use at our events, which contains all the detail about priority from page 39: View here.
Heat draws, competitor schedules, etc, will be shared to the competitor WhatsApp group in the coming days. Live scoring will run on REFRESH for this event. You will be able to follow live scoring on our website. The link will be posted on our social media channels @surfingengland on the day of the contest.
We are excited to be running this event alongside the British Longboard Union, who have been hosting prestigious longboard events in the UK since 1966!
