The Ballito Pro presented by O’Neill, the third stop of the 2022 World Surf League (WSL) Challenger Series (CS), has been called on in two-to-three foot surf at Willard Beach. The WSL Tours and Competitions team will look to complete two rounds of competition. The day will start with the women’s Round of 32 at 7:05 a.m. (GMT+2), followed by the men’s Round of 24 and the women’s Round of 16.

After an equal third-place finish at the GWM Sydney Surf Pro, Kauai surfer Keala Tomoda-Bannert (HAW) is in the top 10 on the CS rankings and could jump into the top 5 with a good result in Ballito. Tomoda-Bannert is in the first heat of the women’s Round of 32 against Daniella Rosas (PER), former Championship Tour (CT) campaigner Bronte Macaulay (AUS) and Teresa Bonvalot (PRT) who won the Challenger Series in Manly.

Only three of the top ten men on the CS rankings are still in the draw in Ballito. Rio Waida (IDN) will be surfing in Heat 4 of the men’s Round of 24, while Leonardo Fioravanti (ITA) and Dylan Moffat (AUS) are in Heat 7.
