The world knows Tom Carroll as the pro surfer, the two-time world champion, the big-wave killer, and the Australian legend. What they don’t know is that while leading the charge of surfing’s rapid and unstoppable move to the world-stage of professional sport during the 80’s, Carroll kept a Canon film AV-1 in-hand and took photographs – lots of photographs. Salt in the Blood is the documentary exploring surfing’s infant days through Tom’s lens and the 30,000 undeveloped photos hidden underneath his house until now.
