Whilst creative sorts prefer the uncluttered, ad free, cleaner confines of Vimeo it’s apparent, by a factor of ten that YouTube is where the views are at when it comes to that awful modern word ‘content’.
The World Surf League has had a banner year when it comes to eyes on the prize. Totalling over 30 million views from their brace of three that top the year’s most watched surf clips.
The runaway champ is of course Mick V Shark with over 20 million go rounds.
On the indie side of the fence it’s Matt Meola’s crazy good Home that tops Vimeo with an impressive 335K. John John is still the king of Vimeo though as search ‘Surfing’ and you get a brace of his shorts in the most ever watched results.
Anyhoose. Here’s the top 3 from both platforms for this year (can’t imagine this order is going to change by year end).
