Changing Lives and Making Waves

Changing Lives and Making Waves

At the heart of the Dryrobe® Warmth Project is a powerful commitment to transform business for the greater good.

Since pioneering the changing robe category in 2010, Dryrobe® has maintained its mission: To spread warmth and connect people with nature to help protect our changing world.

The Dryrobe® Warmth Project aims to provide essential gear to cold-water communities and give back to the people and places aligned with their mission.

From 2018 to 2024, Dryrobe® have donated over £342,000 to causes aligned with its values. In 2024 alone, 1.21% of its revenue was given to environmental and social initiatives.

When you buy a Dryrobe®, you gain essential outdoor gear that connects you with nature, while directly funding the Warmth Project to protect the planet and make the outdoors more accessible for everyone.

We caught up with Dylan Tweedale, Co-ordinator of Dryrobe’s® Social Impact and Warmth Project, to learn more.

“At Dryrobe®, the mission is to spread warmth and connect people with nature to help protect our changing world”

“Gideon, the CEO and visionary behind Dryrobe®, created this innovative product out of a genuine desire to share warmth and empower others to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors, regardless of the elements. The Dryrobe® brand has always celebrated outdoor adventures, yet we recognised a sobering truth: not everyone has equal access to these experiences or the support they need.”

“The Dryrobe® Warmth Project was created to make a meaningful change by helping more people get outdoors, in the water, and experience the benefits of nature. It was inspired by messages from people who shared how a Dryrobe® changing robe had a real impact on someone's life.”

This spirit of genuine connection extends to our core collaborations. To Dryrobe®, these are more than partnerships; they are friendships rooted in genuine connections between brands and partners, where passion for supporting remarkable causes worldwide.

Dylan explains, “So far, it’s been nothing but an incredible journey. For me, it has always been a dream to give back through my work, and it's no surprise that the emotional impact of this journey has been quite profound”

“The people I’ve encountered along the way have truly left me in awe. In just my first week of working on this project, I was inspired by incredible individuals who possess an unyielding drive to enact positive change. Supporting these organisations is critical as they are performing truly transformative work.”

Dryrobe® has proudly been a B Corp since 2022, marking it a business that does business for good, focusing on the planet and people before profits. “One of the great things about being a B Corp is that it helps us strive to be better as a business in everything that we do”, Dylan explains. “Working for a B Corp feels like I'm working towards a bigger purpose for both people and the planet.”

Gideon Bright, Founder and CEO of Dryrobe, states, “We want to be doing some good, and B Corp is a way of holding ourselves accountable, a way of measuring ourselves, and checking we’re going in the right direction.”

City Surf Project x Dryrobe® 2025

Looking ahead, the Dryrobe® Warmth Project has ambitious and exciting aspirations, according to Dylan. “We aim to expand our network of partners, reaching even more diverse communities and tackling new challenges on a global scale. Our vision is to engage the Dryrobe® community innovatively, developing a shared sense of purpose and encouraging active participation.”

“This feels like more than an initiative; it’s a movement, and we are committed to creating lasting impact for years to come”

Hotpipe Hillbillies

Hotpipe Hillbillies

Hotpipe Hillbillies is a documentary about community, resilience, and finding joy in the most unlikely of places. Against the backdrop of Shoreham’s industrial shoreline, a diverse crew of surfers gather at an industrial outflow pipe to ride waves that are often messy, fickle, and short-lived.

This ain’t Cornwall. It sure ain’t California. But for this crew, it’s home. Through humour, grit, and an irrepressible love of surfing, they reveal what it means to find belonging in the water – and why passion, not perfection, is what keeps us paddling out.

On the south coast of England, where the water runs brown and the waves are shaped by concrete, the Hotpipe Hillbillies paddle out. This film follows a tight-knit group of surfers – lifers, blow-ins, shapers, parents – who have turned an industrial outflow pipe into their own version of Pipeline. From old-timers who remember the first boards arriving on the beach, to newcomers bringing punk energy and new stories, each has a reason to keep coming back to this most unlikely surf spot. The result is a love letter to community and resilience. Hotpipe Hillbillies isn’t about the quality of the wave. It’s about what it means to show up, again and again, even when the conditions are stacked against you. Because it’s not about where we surf. It’s about why we surf.

Featuring:

SHAUN ‘HADDOCK’ EDWARDS – the sage of the shoreline, mender of boards, keeper of swans.

JEAN ‘THE HACKMAN’ BROMFIELD – Aussie renegade, skater-surf icon, always in motion.

CLARE ‘THE URCHIN’ VENTHAM – Brighton lifer, fisherwoman, ray of sunshine.

ASHLEY ‘THE PAINTER’ GILL – artist in and out of the water; every wave a work in progress.

SAM ‘614 SHAPES’ NEWMAN – master craftsman, board shaper, family man, carving wood and waves.

ANDREAS ‘THE PIRATE’ PFEIFFER – sailor, fisherman, sea-dog, philosopher of the lineup.

PAUL ‘THE RANGER’ GORRINGE – rewilding ranger, father, local surf voice and elder.

Quiksilver / Washed

Quiksilver / Washed

Washed, the new surf film from Quiksilver, is a raw, high-energy celebration of modern performance surfing. Shot over two years across a range of global surf spots, the 30-minute film features some of the sport’s most exciting talents—including Griffin Colapinto, Mikey Wright, Kanoa Igarashi, Kauli Vaast, and Kael Walsh—pushing the limits of style, speed, and power.

True to Quiksilver’s roots, Washed strips away narrative and gimmicks in favour of pure, unfiltered surfing: big turns, critical barrels, and explosive airs captured in striking cinematography. The film’s premiere tour—from Australia and Japan to the UK—reignites the spirit of the classic surf movie, reminding audiences that in an age of short clips and scrolling feeds, nothing beats the full-throttle beauty of watching surfers simply tear into waves.

Two years of swells chased, clips stacked, hard drives stuffed, ACLs torn, flights missed and tricks landed. Washed is 30 minutes of the Quiksilver team’s best. Enjoy.
