Conan Brophy is a radio documentary maker working at a community radio station in County Clare in the West of Ireland and has recently completed two documentaries about surfing in County Clare. Each documentary contains interviews, ambience, music, narration and some sound design. Conan wanted to take the listener out on the waves with the surfers and even through a wipeout. He to all of the top surfers in the region including Fergal Smith, John McCarthy and Mickey Smith, and a number of shop owners, surf instructors and visiting surfers including Tom Buckley, Cliodhna Fawl and Pat McCarthy. He also tried to give the listener a comprehensive picture of the sport and the region in which it takes place.
