| Threesixty caught up with the crew at Hot Buttered for some info about their bodyboard brand. Who are your team riders? Brad Hughes, Sean Virtue, Ryan McKinnon, Wes Fischer, Dean Fergus and in the UK, Rohan Inglis and Eldred Hawke.
What is your brand ethos? The best shot always wins.
What R&D do you do? Multiple team riders riding the biggest and best waves on the best materials.
How do you stay on top of your quality control? Every board that goes through our factory is checked and re-checked by our trained staff. They have been doing this for the past six years so they know what to look for. Our production is broken down into small stages allowing for any poor quality materials or workmanship to be pulled out and replaced at many steps in the manufacturing process.
What are the latest innovations in your boards? We are into concaves, developed from our surfboard guys’ 40 years of experience in corrected curves and high speed control.
What do you think are going to be the biggest changes in board design in the future? I think board shapes are constantly being refined as the level of bodyboarding is pushed further and further out there. There has been a slimming-down of templates for more control on high performance waves and we are always working on better materials. I think there will be more focus on the basics of a good board and less on the gimmicky features.
