As previously announced local promoters SW1 Productions will be staging a show with Frank Turner at Truro’s Hall for Cornwall on Friday 30 November and we can now announce that support at those shows will be from Tim Barry and Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun.

Frank Turner has had an exceptional couple of years that has seen him play not only the opening ceremony of the London Olympics but also his biggest headline show to date at London’s Wembley Arena. On top of this Frank’s fourth studio album ‘England Keep My Bones’ entered the official album charts at Number 12 when it was released in June 2011 and has since been certified silver with sales toppling over 60,000.

On 3rd September the deluxe edition of the album (which included the 3 extra tracks ‘A Song For Eva Mae’, ‘Wanderlust’ and ‘Balthazar, Impresario’) was re-packaged to include a further extra track – ‘Sailor’s Boots’ plus the Frank Turner: Live From Wembley performance DVD.

After his largest full band headline tour to date of the USA Frank will return to our shores in November for an extensive headline run in the UK featuring support from Tim Barry and Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun.

Based out of Richmond, VA, singer/songwriter Tim Barry is most well known as the front man for Avail, an aggressive hardcore outfit that’s been rocking out in the underground since the early ’90s. In the mid-2000s, the politically conscious Barry began releasing solo material that abandoned the loud-hard-fast punk rules of Avail and stripped it all down to Woody Guthrie-inspired folk, the only thing tying the two projects together being Barry’s gruff voice and brash delivery.

Recently signing to Xtra Mile (the home of Frank Turner) plans are afoot to release his incredible new album, 40 Miler, on 5th November which coincides nicely with Tim joining Frank Turner on this huge UK tour throughout November.

Anarcho-Anglo storytellers Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun open the show with a delivery of their blend of Alt. Country/Rock – in short, the most energetic, poetic and engaging British music in the UK today.

In two short years the band have incessantly toured the country playing alongside the likes of Mumford & Sons, Frank Turner, Dry the River, Johnny Flynn, Alessi’s Ark and Pete Doherty amongst many others, their visceral approach to live performance often takes them from the stage into the crowd for intimate singalong moments, impressing crowds everywhere they go.

2012 has so far seen the band also sign to Xtra Mile Recordings and be included in the NME’s ‘100 New Bands for 2012’; perform at SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas as well as receive airplay on the Mike Davies Radio One Punk Show.
