Quiver Surfboards European Longboard Champions 2012!
Quiver® and renowned shaper Alain Minvielle’s international success continues with a win in the 6* European Boardmasters and with it the 2012 European Longboard Championship.
Quiver® rider 2010 World Champion Antoine Delpero took first in the 6* event in Newquay last weekend, and with it the 2012 European Championship. His brother Eduardo Delpero also cruised to a final place in a decisive win for team Quiver®.
Quiver® rider Damien Castera – one of the best free surfer in Europe right now – won praise for his smooth and progressive surfing in the semi-finals.
Questioned, Damien praised his new Castera Model –“These boards are incredible – my surfing has progressed with every surf I have!” Damien’s attacking style in bigger surf has drawn respect throughout Europe. His new superlight and ultra responsive Competition Model is out soon.
The longboard team riders ride boards from renowned French longboard shaper Alain Minvielle under the Quiver® Colab Series label in Europe.
All team riders ordered boards for the winter, Antoine adding D’Arcy’s new best selling model “Ugly Betty” for his short board surfing.
Quiver®’s International shortboard shaper D’Arcy has been inundated with orders since his arrival in Europe from Australia two months ago.
Respect spreads quickly, and D’Arcy boards are shipping around the continent. Local surfers were quick to respond to one of the world’s finest shapers, and team riders have all praised the accuracy of his progressive new shapes out of Quiver® surfboards. A great surfer in his own right, D’Arcy and the Quiver® Colab Series are also attracting International attention.
Look for the first of the Quiver® Colab Series adverts featuring D’Arcy on the inside cover of Surfers Path magazine next month, and a feature article to follow. D’Arcy will also be present at the Surf Expo in France on October 1-3rd .
STOP PRESS: Famous French shaper Fifi Chevalier has built his first model for the 2013 Quiver Colab Series collection. Fifi was welcomed by the Quiver crew, who recognised the huge contribution he has made to progressive surfing in France.
His new model “The Chevy” will be available in spring 2013 as part of the Colab Series refresh.
Meanwhile, the Quiver® Rainbow Series by New Zealand surfer/shaper Felix Dickson is becoming a common sight in UK waters and in surf shops, especially Amanda’ famous Sunset Surf Shop in Newquay. The bright resin tint range of rainbow coloured boards under the Quiver® Feestix label have Felix’s unique new creative style of shaping embedded in Quiver quality. Felix’s fast & furious “Fony Model” five-fin has become a big seller quickly.
