Alex Williams, the world renowned surf photographer, created this project book as a student at Plymouth College of Art and Design in the mid-1970s. The original book will be displayed as part of ‘Endless Summer: The Evolution of Surfing’, alongside his photographs and magazine covers, and classic boards from private collections and the Museum of British Surfing, Braunton. Also on display are early Super 8 films of surfing in the region, photography competition winners, ephemera, a wave tank from Plymouth University, and paintings from our collection. We’re delighted to also be able to display Hokusai’s ‘The Great Wave’, and a brand new 3m x 3m painting by Kurt Jackson.
