Ride as many boards as you can, whenever you can. This has always been our mantra, but especially so after we fell in love with demo days and tours. I mean how can you argue with free boards to test ride? In some cases it is eye opening, and some it saves money and time wasted on poor information, in all cases it is fun and it takes the risk out of what is an expensive and important decision! It is especially useful when conducted with shapers or respected and knoweldgable experts, but even more so when the boards you can ride are those funky weird looking numbers that you wished you could have go on.
The 2012 UK Firewire demo tour puts 10 really different shapes in shops around the country for two weeks at a time when there is surf in the area. From the funky Sweet Potato, which I can tell you rides nothing like it looks, to Bourez’s 6’0 tour board there is something for everyone to have a go on.
The first batch of boards are locked and loaded in Down the Line Surf Shop in Hayle from Saturday 30th June. Check in with the surf shops below, or follow carvemag on Twitter for updates for availability in your area!
